Charles Sheffield
Our toastmaster, Charles Sheffield, is also a physicist and writer. His first SF story, "What Song the Sirens Sang," was first published in Galaxy in 1977. "Georgia on My Mind" won both the Hugo and Nebula awards for Best Novellette. His short stories, novels, nonfiction books, and articles explore the future and our place in the Universe.

Charles recently married author Nancy Kress.
