Bucconeer's Plans for LoneStarCon2

The Bucky Crew is looking forward to our trip to San Antonio. Those Friendly Texans know how to make a pirate feel welcome. We've got a cargo hold of ideas for our activities there.

At LoneStarCon2, we will be staging the world premiere of the fannish play The Pirates of Fenzance. This play will feature singing fans and silly pirate costumes.

Anyone who missed our Treasure Hunt for the "Lost Pirate Treasure of Bucconeer" at L.A.con III will have another chance to play. Fans will be able to search for clues in all corners of LoneStarCon2. Official pirate ribbons will be given to everyone who successfully tracks down all the clues. Their names will also be entered in daily drawings for special prizes.

Our ship's cook and staff are down in the galley trying to perfect their recipe for crab chili, which we plan to enter in the Chili Cookoff. Naturally, our crew invites you to come party with us like it's 1797.

Of course, we have some official duties at LoneStarCon2. The post-Hugo Award Ceremony Losers' Party has become a tradition. What started out as an informal party run by the losers themselves has turned into an event hosted by the following year's Worldcon committee. The LoneStarCon2 committee was very polite at L.A.con III. They called it a Hugo Nominee Party. Not us! Bucconeer will be hosting a real Hugo LOSERS' Party. We'll make them dance jigs and sing "What Do You Do with a Drunken Pirate?" And finally, at LoneStarCon2's Closing Ceremony, the San Antonio cowboys will hand over the World-con reins ah, ship's wheel to the pirates of Baltimore.
