Stanley Schmidt has been the editor of Analog Science Fiction and Fact Magazine since 1978. He earned a Ph.D. in physics in 1969 and taught at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio before taking over the editorship of Analog. Stan's first story was published in Analog in 1968. He has written several novels, starting with Newton and the Quasi-Apple in 1975. Stan still finds time to write. His experience has enabled him to maintain Analog as premiere outlet for hard sf stories and science articles.
